Volunteer teams in high priority areas

Volunteering teams are solidarity activities that allow teams of participants from at least two different countries to volunteer together for a period of between 2 weeks and 2 months.

In volunteering teams, European Solidarity Corps volunteers will carry out project tasks for a short period of time (usually, but not exclusively, during holidays, breaks between study periods, transition from education to work, etc.). Despite their shorter duration, these activities will be valuable both for the individuals and for the communities in which the volunteering takes place.

Some examples of activities to be carried out could be:

  • Restoring cultural heritage damaged by a natural disaster.
  • Caring for endangered species.
  • Organizing educational activities in refugee camps.

Volunteering teams are particularly suitable for a first volunteering experience. Volunteers will carry out the activities in groups. This can be an incentive for young people who do not feel ready to embark on challenging experiences on their own. The time to commit is relatively short. These types of projects also offer preparatory visits to the volunteering site before the activities begin.

What is a Work Camp?

An international work camp is a training volunteer experience where you offer your time to an organization in another part of the world in order to carry out support work in a specific local community, doing work of a very diverse type (social, environmental, cultural, educational...) carrying out tasks such as protecting nature, raising awareness, helping people and groups, heritage interventions, festivals or archaeological tasks.

Work camps are stays of between 15 and 20 days that are carried out mainly in the summer, although there are projects throughout the year. Your collaboration in a project is combined with the recreational and leisure activities that the association or entity that organizes the project can offer, or those activities that the same group of volunteers can propose and carry out in your free time. A very characteristic feature of international work camps is the coexistence during the stay, with young people from any country around the world.
